The Winter grading was held at Somers
Town dojo, Central London on December 11th 2002. Black belts in attendance
were JJ Burnel 5dan, Don Clift 3dan, Danny Monks shodan and Simon Margot
shodan.
Several members from Cambridge dojo were in attendance and Sam and Owen
graded alongside their London colleagues. For the first time ever in Shidokan
England we had a girl, Fiona Carson, attempting 7 person kumite for 2nd
kyu brown belt. Also going for 2nd kyu brown, after his first ever tournament,
was Tim Higham. I am very pleased to announce that all those who took
the test passed despite one knockout and a few broken ribs! A total of
53 x 2 minute fights were held.
